St. Maurice Parish Prayer Intentions for December 2022

  1. Heavenly Father, awaken our hearts to Your calling; show us each our unique place in Your plan, and help us to see and fulfill Your design for St. Maurice parish.

  2. Lord, help us to prepare the way for the Lord this Advent season; grant us courage to share the true meaning of the season with those around us; keep us ever watchful, always seeking You, so that, like your Blessed Mother, we can bring Your presence into the world.

  3. Lord, send Your Holy Spirit upon us this Christmas; help us stay focused on You through all our busy-ness; comfort those who find this time of year challenging and help us all to keep the peace and hope of Your nativity alive in our hearts, our homes, and our world.

  4. Lord, guide our journey towards the National Day of Prayer in Solidarity with Indigenous Peoples; give us one heart and one mind to walk together in the love and strength of Your Spirit; help us to listen compassionately, to speak humbly, to act justly, and to love without expectation. Our Lady of Guadalupe pray for us.

  5. Jesus, Mary and Joseph, make our families places of communion and prayer, and authentic schools of the Gospel, and make our world once more mindful of the sacredness of the family, and its beauty in God’s plan.

  6. Lord, we pray for all the sick and suffering in our parish and our families; comfort their pain, calm their fears, surround them with Your peace, and restore health in all those seeking healing.

  7. We pray that volunteer non-profit organisations committed to human development find people dedicated to the common good and ceaselessly seek out new paths to international cooperation.

St. Maurice Parish Prayer Intentions for November 2022

  1. Eternal Father, we pray for all friends and family who have died in the past year, and for all those in our Book of Remembrance: may they rest in the arms of your mercy, and may those who mourn be comforted by the hope of eternal life.

  2. Lord, we pray for all who have served the cause of peace in our armed forces, for all who have lost loved ones or who suffer in any way due to war, and for all who bring Your comfort to veterans and their families: may their hearts be filled with Your peace and consolation, and may Your justice inspire all nations to live in harmony.

  3. Holy Spirit, we pray for all those taking part in the Alpha retreat and the RCIA program: may their encounter with the living Christ be profound, and may it inspire a deep love of Jesus and His church. Continue to lead them in journeys of conversion and discipleship, and fill them with Your grace and blessings.

  4. Heavenly Father, draw all parishioners into deeper knowledge and experience of You and Your amazing love: create a yearning in our hearts to lead those in our families, neighbourhoods, schools and workplaces to that same knowledge and experience.

  5. Author of Life, we pray for our Parish Council as they prepare a status update on our 5-year plan. Continue to guide and encourage their work; may the progress they report excite everyone at St. Maurice and inspire even greater commitment to the plan’s goals and objectives.

  6. Lord, we pray for Fr. Tim, Fr. Marcus and the Finance Council, as they prepare the finance report and new budget. Guide their deliberations and decisions; may the annual budget generate hope and enthusiasm as we continue towards our Mission and Vision.

  7. Dearest Jesus, we pray for all parishioners as we approach the season of Advent. Open our hearts to the great blessing of Your Incarnation; open our minds to receive the Spirit who prepares us for Your coming; may this time of preparation be lived deeply and bear much spiritual fruit.

  8. We pray for children who are suffering, especially those who are homeless, orphans, and victims of war; may they be guaranteed access to education and the opportunity to experience family affection.
